Frequently Asked Questions
About LaunchPointGG
What is LaunchPointGG?
LaunchPointGG (LPGG) is a sim racing organization and community built around competitive racing, driver development, content creation, and creating a welcoming place for people who love motorsports.
LPGG includes our competitive racing program, media and content creators, engineering resources, community programs, and the LaunchPointGG Premier Series.
When was LaunchPointGG founded?
LaunchPointGG officially launched on January 1, 2025. What started as a small passion project and a place for friends to race together has continued to grow into the organization and community LPGG is today.
What sim does LaunchPointGG primarily use?
Our primary platform is iRacing, including our competitive teams, endurance racing efforts, community events, and the LPGG Premier Series.
That doesn't mean you have to exclusively race on iRacing to be part of the community.
Where is LaunchPointGG based?
LaunchPointGG is primarily based in North America, but our community includes members from around the world.
Our competitive racing operations are organized into Americas, Europe, and Pacific regions as we continue to expand internationally.
Joining LPGG
How do I join LaunchPointGG?
The easiest way to get involved is by joining our Discord community. From there, you can meet other members, participate in events, ask questions, and learn about opportunities within LPGG.
Competitive driver, engineering, media, and staff openings may have separate application or recruitment processes.
Do I need to be fast to join?
Absolutely not.
You don't need a massive iRating, years of experience, or a trophy case to be part of LaunchPointGG. We're interested in people who enjoy racing, want to improve, and contribute positively to the people around them.
Competitive team positions may have additional requirements depending on the program.
I'm completely new to sim racing. Can I still join?
Yes.
Some of our members have years of experience while others are still relatively new to sim racing. Learning and helping each other improve are important parts of the LPGG community.
If you're willing to learn, there's a place to start.
Is there an age requirement?
LaunchPointGG is an 18+ community.
Do I have to live in the United States?
No. LPGG welcomes members internationally.
Our competitive programs are structured around the Americas, Europe, and Pacific regions to make scheduling and team organization easier.
Does it cost anything to join LaunchPointGG?
There is no membership fee to be part of the LaunchPointGG community.
Certain races, leagues, services, or third-party platforms may have their own costs, such as iRacing subscriptions, content, or event entry fees.
LPGG Racing
What is LPGG Racing?
LPGG Racing is the competitive motorsports division of LaunchPointGG.
Our drivers compete in organized leagues, endurance events, special events, and other competitions while working together on preparation, strategy, setups, and driver development.
What types of racing does LPGG participate in?
Our primary focus is sports car and endurance racing on iRacing, although LPGG members participate in many different disciplines.
Major endurance events are an especially important part of our racing program.
How do I become an LPGG driver?
Team Driver positions are separate from general community membership.
We're looking for drivers who are dependable, collaborative, willing to prepare for events, and interested in improving alongside their teammates.
When positions are available, applications or recruitment information will be posted through our website and community channels.
Is there an iRating requirement?
There isn't one universal iRating requirement for every LPGG team.
Driver selection considers much more than raw pace, including racecraft, consistency, communication, preparation, attitude, availability, and how well someone works with a team.
Does LPGG only recruit experienced drivers?
No.
Experienced drivers are valuable, but developing drivers is an important part of what we do. Someone who is coachable, dependable, and committed to improving can be just as valuable to the organization as someone who is already extremely quick.
LPGG Engineering
What is LPGG Engineering?
LPGG Engineering supports our racing programs through areas such as telemetry analysis, vehicle setup, race strategy, and event preparation.
Engineering resources are designed not only to improve performance, but also to help our drivers understand why something works.
Can I join LPGG as an engineer instead of a driver?
Yes.
Not everyone interested in motorsports wants to be behind the wheel. Engineering opportunities may be available for people interested in telemetry, strategy, setups, data analysis, and other technical areas.
Premier Series
What is the LPGG Premier Series?
The LaunchPointGG Premier Series is our organized GT racing championship on iRacing.
The series is designed to provide competitive racing while maintaining the community-focused environment LPGG was built around.
Do I have to be an LPGG driver to race in the Premier Series?
No. The Premier Series and the LPGG competitive racing teams are separate programs.
You do not have to represent LPGG Racing to participate in the championship unless otherwise stated for a particular season or event.
Where can I find standings and results?
Current championship standings, race results, schedules, and other Premier Series information are available in the Premier Series section of our website.
Media & Content Creation
What is LPGG Media?
LPGG Media is the content and creative side of LaunchPointGG.
Our creators produce content across platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and social media while helping tell the stories of our drivers, events, and community.
Do I need a large following to become an LPGG Content Creator?
No.
Audience size is only one consideration. We're much more interested in creators who make quality content, are consistently active, fit the LPGG community, and want to grow alongside the organization.
Does LaunchPointGG take a percentage of creator revenue?
No.
LPGG Content Creators retain the revenue generated through their personal channels. LaunchPointGG does not take a percentage of a creator's Twitch, YouTube, or other personal content revenue simply because they're part of LPGG Media.
Community & Development
Does LPGG offer coaching?
Yes.
Through programs such as the LaunchPoint Driver Academy, we provide opportunities for members to learn more about driving, telemetry, setups, endurance racing, specific circuits, and other areas of sim racing.
We also encourage experienced members to share their knowledge with the rest of the community.
Can someone help me with telemetry, setups, or racecraft?
That's one of the reasons the community exists.
Between our drivers, engineering team, leadership, and other experienced members, we encourage people to ask questions and learn from each other.
Can LPGG help me figure out who was at fault in an incident?
Yes. Incident discussion and racecraft education can be part of the resources available to the community.
The goal isn't to publicly shame someone for making a mistake. It's to understand what happened, how it could have been avoided, and what everyone involved can learn from it.
Community & Values
Is LaunchPointGG an inclusive community?
Very much so.
LaunchPointGG is committed to maintaining a community where people are treated with dignity and respect regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, or background.
Motorsports should be something people can enjoy without having to tolerate discrimination or harassment to participate.
Why does a sim racing organization talk about social issues?
Because the people behind the cars matter more than the cars.
LaunchPointGG has never wanted to separate "community" from caring about the people within it. We openly support causes and organizations that align with our values and use our platform when we believe staying silent would contradict those values.
You can learn more on our Social Activism page.
Does LPGG support charities?
Yes.
LaunchPointGG and our members have supported charitable organizations and initiatives through fundraising, special events, awareness campaigns, and other community efforts.
Working With LPGG
Are LPGG staff positions paid?
Most positions within LaunchPointGG are currently volunteer roles.
Any compensation, reimbursement, provided subscriptions, race entries, or other benefits associated with a specific position will be communicated when that position is offered.
Can I volunteer with LaunchPointGG without racing?
Absolutely.
Running LPGG involves much more than driving. Depending on our current needs, opportunities may exist in areas such as engineering, graphic design, social media, community management, broadcasting, photography, video editing, league administration, and other specialties.
I'm interested in sponsoring or partnering with LaunchPointGG. Who should I contact?
We're always interested in hearing from organizations that genuinely fit LaunchPointGG and our community.
Partnership opportunities can include competitive racing, liveries, apparel, content, community programs, the Premier Series, Driver Academy, special events, and other custom activations.
See below for our contact details.
Can my organization collaborate with LPGG without becoming a sponsor?
Potentially.
We're open to collaborations with creators, racing communities, leagues, nonprofits, businesses, and other organizations when there's a good fit. Reach out and tell us what you have in mind.
